Clark Barrett is a Broken Hill artist who was born in Managua, Nicaragua in 1952. He studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Teaching Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia, USA and has been resident in Broken Hill since 1975. Barrett has worked as an art teacher, painting and drawing instructor from primary to tertiary level from 1974 to 2020. As well as his own art practice, Barrett has been involved in many public art projects in Broken Hill including murals on the Charles Rasp Library in 1982, Sturt Park in 1985 and the Miners Mural in Chloride Street in 1986. Barrett has won the Broken Hill Art Gallery Acquisitive Prize four times: in 1978, 1981, 1982 and 1983.
